Draughtproofing service in Cork

Posted on November 1, 2009 at 3:21 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Consumers,

Beat the air leaking into your property with DKEC, we have teamed up with a number of local partners who can provide corrective draughtproofing work to fix these problems in Cork City and County. Stopping air infiltration into your property is the most effective way in which to reduce energy bills. It is more effective than increasing insulation. Example if you had a jumper on outside in a windy day it is ineffective, but if you have an airtight jacket it is much more effective. No matter how much insulation you have in your property its effectiveness is reduced due to air infiltration. Call DKEC today and let us put you in the picture with our infrared thermal imaging service available in Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Limerick and Tipperary.

Daniel Kenneally

Beat The Carbon Tax with Thermal Imaging in Cork and Munster

Posted on October 23, 2009 at 4:30 PM Comments comments (0)

Hi all,

As we approach the budget in the coming months we can be guaranteed that a carbon tax is on the cards. This has been confirmed recently by Brian Cowen. Here at DKEC we are going to outline how infrared thermal imaging can help reduce fuel consumption and beat the dreaded carbon tax. Not only is beating the carbon important but vital, as we may have reached peak oil and the era of cheap oil is over so we must adapt to this the sooner the better.

Infrared thermal imaging is a service provided by DKEC, we have a wealth of experience in the application of this new technology to existing properties. Infrared thermal imaging provides a wealth of information to people such as missing insulation, air infiltration, gaps in the building fabric and faulty windows. Air infiltration is unnoticed coming into the property and therefore property owners don't realize it. However, to compensate for this air infiltration, more energy will be used in order to heat the property and keep this to a comfortable level. Thus, you could have a serious gap in your windows and you would be losing serious money here. An average thermal report is approximately 95 pages and the wealth of information it gives consumers will help in beating the carbon tax and limiting the spend on energy.

Air Tightness and thermal imaging In Cork and Munster

Posted on October 8, 2009 at 3:10 AM Comments comments (0)

Dear Consumers,

As the temperatures get a little cooler as we approach winter here in Cork, you may feel that the property that you and your family are in is leaking air into the property. This is a bad situation especially with the way in which property developers slapped up properties all around the country during the property boom.

Our infrared thermal imaging service will certainly put you in the picture and locate cold air infilitration, missing insulation and also moisture in the property.

The survey of the property will take approximately 1-2 hours to capture all the images of the property. We also do a scan of the outside to see heat escaping from the property. Then we analyse the thermographic images and compile a report and recommendations as a result of the survey.

The report will then provide you with all the information you need to locate problems in the property and easily identify the corrective action. The report is a good reference point for further improvements. It is a great way of identifying weakness in the property without destruction of a wall for example, if you had to locate where the missing insulation was you would have to rip down all the wall and see is the insulation there or not.

I look forward to helping you and your family in the future,

Regards,

Daniel Kenneally

New Builds in Cork and Munster Get The Right Advice and Save Thousands

Posted on October 1, 2009 at 2:18 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Consumers,

Welcome to our new blog post on building a new property. While building costs have fallen significantly over the past years it is a great time to be building.

However, there are certain elements of the new build that should not be avoided. DKEC are announcing our new build consultancy service. As part of this service we show you how to get the best BER rating. We provide technical advice that will save you thousands over the lifetime of the mortgage.

Example we provide a technical specification on the U value of your wall. Timber Frame companies on the market may show you their product but it does pay to get objective advice from an Independent expert. If you prefer to build a traditional block property we provide the right technical advise to get as good a rating as any Timber Frame.

Another technical example of this, is investing in triple glazed windows that have a massive cost and may have only a marginal difference on the BER cert. What we aim to do is to give you impartial advice the way you can save in the long term. For the best technical advice in for all your new builds in Cork contact us today. We also offer this technical service in Munster.

Call us today we look forward to reducing the cost of your new build.

Regards,

Daniel Kenneally
